This website has been a long time in the making. I learned my foundation in college and have been exploring HTML/CSS/JS ever since. I’m not too great at it, but I’m learning a lot along the way. We’ll start out with introducing myself and then my partner in crime and fellow shooter.
I’m Rachel (if you don’t know me then, nice to meet you!) I work at a printing manufacturing company in Denver, long story short, I work in their technology department doing some programming, designing, and miscellaneous projects. Now, for the fun stuff.
I started shooting film photography my sophomore year of highschool and joined our 400-page yearbook staff my junior year. I learned the basics about photojournalism in the next two years and shot as a second wedding photographer with Donna Menley (http://www.swflphotography.com/). When I graduated, I had the intentions of going to college to pursue photography and I did. Sort of. I ended up changing my major concentration to graphic design but worked at The Rocky Mountain Collegian for 3 1/2 years as a photographer. (The Collegian is CSU’s daily student-run newspaper) I learned a mass amount at the Collegian. I learned about people. I learned about photography, lots of photography. I was pushed to shoot sports photography, portraits, features, standard news — anything was fair game. This made me learn a lot about shooting and getting that special shot.
Enough rambling about the Collegian, on to wedding photography. While I shot with Donna, I loved being able to capture special moments when grandma is boogying down with a 5-year-old grandson or the first kiss. I have continued this passion throughout college and continuing into my professional life. I also shot with Evie Webb (http://www.joyphoto.biz/) in Denver as a second shooter in the later half of my college years. It hasn’t been until recently that I have decided to pursue my own route and begin making a name for myself and for Dream Wedding Photography.
I hope that you stick around and like what you see on this site. Enjoy!
